3 Tests down and 1 to go!
Well, yesterday I had the EKG, Chest X-Ray, and Lab Work! The Lab was terrible....my veins weren't cooperating so they only got 2 viles from my arm then they had to get 5 more from my hand. The tech was so nice though, he talke and talked to keep my mind off of what was going on. The EKG was quick as was the X-Ray. I go for the psych next Wednesday and that will be the last test (hopefully)! After that one the doctor will give me a release letter to go for surgery then I can have the consult appointment with the surgeon. The waiting is driving me nuts, but I know that I have to be patient.

Appointment Scheduled
Well, I spoke to the office today and got the approval to move forward with the Psyc test. They can't get me in until the 25th. How ironic, on my 30th birthday. Hopefully if all goes well, by mid-November I'll be done with this.
So, Monday EKG, Chest Xrays, Lab Work then12 days from today Psyc. Not sure what happens after all that I can meet with the surgeon and schedule the operation!
We'll see what next week brings.
Still haven't said anything to my family, figured I'd wait until I'm sure I get to have the procedure.

Waiting for a call
Well, I think things are finally starting to move smoothly. I've had some problems with making appointments for the tests I need.
I got the approval from the insurance company to go and meet with the surgeon, but the surgeon won't meet with me until I have all of the tests done.
I spoke to the psyc office and they have to make sure that I've done all the steps needed to move forward with the testing. Hopefully I'll hear from them tomorrow!
Monday I have an appointment to go for my EKG, chest x-rays, and lab work.
I'm hoping I can have this procedure done by the first of November. Time will tell. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

GETTING ANXIOUS
I'm starting to get anxious about my follow-up appointment with the doctor. A friend just had the GBS Monday and has lost 5lbs already. She is in a lot of pain, but is glad she went through with it. I'm anxious to see her through this. Figured it would help me with my decision if I get to go through it with someone. Next appointment with the dietitian is in 2 weeks.

Update
Well, I went for my second visit to the dietitian. I lost a whopping 8 pounds in a month while practically starving myself. Eating 5 times a day is hard, but it's what I have to do. I went to a seminar for the GBS and it was very informative. I have one more appointment with the dietitian then my follow-up with my doctor for the referral to the doctor who performs the GBS. We'll see if the insurance approves it.

Been A While
Wow, didn't realize how long it's been since I've posted. Things are going pretty good. I met with a dietitian last week. I'm on a eating 5 times a day diet. Hard to get use to but I'm adjusting. This is the first step for the GB surgery. I figured hopefully this will motivate me so that surgery isn't necessary. I have to meet with the dietitian for 3 months before the process begins. We'll see what happens....
